Why Red / Infrared Light?
Since ancient times, sunlight has played a crucial role in nurturing all forms of life. In essence, light is a vital nutrient like food and water, with red and near-infrared spectrums making up a significant portion of the sun’s energy. These spectrums penetrate the skin and underlying tissues, enhancing cellular energy metabolism.
Light therapy, scientifically referred to as photobiomodulation, utilizes these specific light spectra to promote tissue repair and relieve tension. Photo receptor molecules within the cells absorb these photons, accelerating ATP production - the fuel cells require for repair and regeneration. Damaged cells that struggle to make ATP on their own benefit from light therapy, as it provides the necessary energy to heal and rebuild faster, with reduced scarring.
Wavelengths630nm (Red Light):Optimal for addressing skin conditions, boosting wound healing, and encouraging skin rejuvenation.660nm (Red Light):Supports recovery from training fatigue, reduces inflammation, and speeds up wound recovery.810nm (Near-Infrared Light):Enhances various recovery processes, including brain function and mental wellness.830nm (Near-Infrared Light):Possesses anti-inflammatory properties and is excellent for rapid recovery after intensive activities.850nm (Near-Infrared Light):Alleviates muscle strain and assists in muscle repair, optimizing the therapeutic effects of the red light spectrum.
630nm and 660nm Red Wavelengths are effective at promoting skin tissue healing and regeneration. These specific wavelengths target the entire skin tissue depth, aiding in a host of health benefits such as diminishing training fatigue, supporting muscle strength, reducing inflammation, and accelerating wound healing, among others.
In contrast, 810nm, 830nm, and 850nm Infrared Wavelengths go beyond the skin, capable of penetrating deeper to reach bones and internal organs. This spectrum can facilitate the healing of internal structures, offering anti-inflammatory relief for joints, boosting muscle mass while reducing tissue oxidative stress, augmenting collagen production for healthier soft tissues (like ligaments and tendons), and can even aid in tooth repair.
